VINYL TAP

Yay! I finally figured out my Friday post. I have faith that a schedule will eventually create itself for this blog. So… The Friday post is part of my new resolution to develop my Vinyl collection. I am going to attempt to buy a new record every week and post photos. Hopefully, I will manage to stick to the plan and by the end of the year, I will find myself with 52 albums. The fun part of this “assignment” is that they have to be bought locally, and except for special occasions they have to be less that $10 (preferably less that $5). So last night, I took a stroll to End of an Ear and here is what I found… $3.99.

I may have to post two next Friday so I can get caught up. I don't wanna fall behind so early in the game. OH! And Mom, I thought of you. As I was browsing the $.99 section, I came across three copies of Janis Ian’s “Between the Lines”. They’re practically giving them away. But, I still love you for loving her so whole-heartedly. I always love a true fan. Long Live Janis!

DREAMS

This has been one of my dreams for quite some time now. I want to stay in a treehouse hotel before I die. If you know me at all, you probably also know that I'm obsessed with luxury treehouses. I would love to live in one! But for now, I'm okay with the thought of just visiting one first. Here is one I always look back on when I'm dreaming of running away. It's in Costa Rica and actually one of the most affordable ones I've come across.

JONSI

Some pretty awesome album artwork. I especially like the rendering of the type. Check out the video too! Concert timelapse. Might wanna go full screen for that one.

INTERIORS

Here are some interior photos I've collected over the years. There are many more but even these may bore you so I decided to only upload a few. I can't wait to see what my home looks like one day when my budget permits. A lot of these are actually very budget friendly, but do take some personal touch...

I love the bare wood shelves.

Vintage cupboards

Photo "clothesline"

Pretty Teal and kitchen herbs

I would honestly hang out here ALL day.

Pretty whites!

Cute installation

Hanging shelf

Vintage rulers! I love this idea for the stairs.

Industrial lamp. Exposed brick. Yes please.

Mini photo wall

I hope my home has this lighting... and this rug.

Hanging lights and blue walls.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Not sure how often I'll be posting original work, but since my resolution is to take more photos, this might be a good venue to show them. Can't decide. Anywho, here are some original photos taken in the past. I discovered this technique by making a happy mistake. I was playing with a projecting images on a wall and these photos stemmed from that. If you're interested in hearing the full process, let me know and I would be happy to elaborate. I hope to do more of these soon. Let me know what you think.

BIRDS

The birds in Austin are nuts. Seriously, every day at 5:00 pm they come out of the woodwork. They are almost deafening inside my office building. I've never seen so many birds. And since one of my new year's resolutions is to take more pictures... Badabing

HOME

Oh lawdy! Two posts in one day. But I just had to. You've gotta see this! I found it on the Free People blog and just had to share...

BOTTLES

About a month ago, I ordered some vintage apothecary bottles. I’ve wanted to buy some for a really long time, but I finally found some for a reasonable price on Etsy and jumped at the chance. They sit in my windowsill and I love the way the sun hits them in the morning.

They have been inspiring me ever since. Now, I’ve decided that my next DIY will be a vintage liquor cabinet of sorts. I want to find some vintage bottles that I can display my liquors in, each with their own flavor label (whiskey, gin, tequila, so on). While I was searching for some, I came across these and I really love the idea. It would be awesome to get an engraved label on my vintage bottles.

These would be such a cute gift idea if you have any married friends. You can even get them for same-sex couples. To find the set, visit http://www.love-and-victory.com/.

I also loved the animated call-to-action I found for them. If it hadn't been so beautifully designed, I dunno if I would have ever clicked through to their site. Check it out...
