LATELY

I’ve been feeling very productive and inspired lately. I just got my first freelance job with a PR company here in town, Cultivate PR. I’m really excited to work with them. My first project will be a press kit for a new club in town called Kingdom. If this one goes well, there will be an opportunity for me to do a couple other press kits for them in the coming weeks. This opportunity is great for me because it forced me to draw up a freelance contract and think about freelance pricing. They may even let me do some guest blogging, which would be amazing!

Also, I just launched a food blog with my friend and neighbor Sarah. I mentioned this before but check it out at www.onegreentable.com. My days are spent thinking about fun ideas for blog posts. It keeps me creative and I now have a tangible excuse for purchasing a better camera. My camera purchase will be funded by my freelance work.

The Cotton Row blog has turned into a more personal blog, documenting my endeavors to find creative outlets. I still have a corresponding Etsy store for Cotton Row, check it out if you are in need of some vintage threads. Throughout this process of trying a little bit of everything, I have made an effort to start drawing more and taking more photos. Hopefully, I will be able to host some of those creations on this blog. The embroidered type post inspired me to draw letters again (see below). I’m secretly a typo-phile. I have a strong love for letters. After talking with a friend from back when, I decided on the phrase “Let’s rewind”. No matter how bright the future looks, nostalgia gets the best of me sometimes.

Let me know your feedback on the direction of the blog. Do you have a favorite post?

TYPOGRAPHY

I stumbled across these beautiful hand-stitched type posters today and thought I would share. After poking around a bit, I became obsessed with the work this studio produces. I always find inspiration in well-executed type, but these guys do more than that. Check out the rest of Maricor/Maricar and follow their blog!

ONE GREEN TABLE

Sorry, it has been quite some time since my last post. I've been busy getting the new food blog ready to go! I really am thrilled about this new venture. It has been fun so far and has a lot of potential! Check out www.onegreentable.com to read more about what we are up to. I drew these veggies about a year ago and really had no use for it until now. It's really amazing how much you can recycle old drawings, designs, and textures. Let me know what you think about the new header!
